Jan 15, 2014 (newstodate): After 24 years of absence, a Serb carrier is again to call at Poland's Warsaw Airport.
The route connecting Belgrade and Warsaw was earlier operated by JAT, but now its successor, Etihad's equity partner Air Serbia is to launch services starting from May 29, 2014, with Airbus A319 aircraft.
The carrier will heat up competition on the route that is currently served by the Polish carrier LOT offering a daily service from the start of the summer schedule - but with smaller Embraer E-170 aircraft.
LOT was also absent from the route for 10 years before reopening flights between Warsaw and Belgrade starting from May 4, 2009.
