Jan 07, 2014 (newstodate): Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group will work with Russia's state-owned Rostec Group to develop Moscow's fourth international hub - Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport.
The two companies have signed a cooperation agreement to establish a JV for the development and management of the existing Ramenskoye as the fourth Moscow airport hub.
Avia Solutions Group will invest over USD 30 million into the company's share capital and control up to 75 percent of the newly established company stocks.
The Russian partner will contribute to the project by bringing in the land and real estate currently under its ownership in the territory of Ramenskoye aerodrome.
Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport has two runways, one of which is the longest in Europe - 5,400m.
To transform the airfield into a fully-fledged international airport the company will build a passenger handling complex and establish all the appropriate services.
In the first stage of development, the existing facilities will be supplemented with a new 7,000 sq m passenger terminal capable of serving up to 1.8 million of passengers per year as well as other pertinent infrastructure.
With the capacity to serve 12 million of passengers per year, Ramenskoye International Airport will be specifically tailored to meet the growing demand for low-cost air travels in Russia.
