Jan 30, 2014 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo denies the information brought by newstodate yesterday on a decision on the MD-11F fleet in 2015
-We have 16 MD-11F freighters remaining in operation after the two oldest aircraft are retired in favour of two new deliveries of Boeing 777F aircraft, says Alexander Kohnen, Lufthansa Cargo Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries.
-Two more Boeing 777F will arrive this year, bringing the fleet to a total of 20 freighter aircraft.
-No decision has been made to phase out more MD-11F aircraft, so there is certainly no deadline, as claimed, set for 2015, and there is also no pressure on us to do so.
-We are of course actively monitoring the market development and may decide at any given time on capacity measures, according to market dynamics, says Mr Kohnen.
