Jan 27, 2014 (newstodate): While the volume of e-freight is soaring world-wide, driven by private customers over the internet, Russia is again going against the tide.
Starting from January 1, 2014, requirements by Russian Customs on documents in connection with private customers' import shipments have been strengthened, increasing the volume of paper and data work and creating prohibitive back-logs in order processing.
Facing this, most major express and integrator companies have therefore ceased accepting these transactions altogether, sources say.
