Jan 08, 2013 (newstodate): In November 2013, Norway maintained its position as the fastest growing as well as the largest IATA export cargo market in the Nordic region.
Growing by 15.9 percent, y-o-y, to 9,754 tonnes, Norway easily overtook #2, Sweden where IATA export cargo dropped 7.1 percent to 8,706 tonnes.
At the top of the IATA CASS list in Norway was Qatar Airways that increased its volumes by 123.7 percent, y-o-y, to 1,474 tonnes reflecting also the significant freighter capacity thrown in.
Since October 27, 2013, Qatar Airways Cargo is online at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport with three freighter calls bound for Seoul and beyond, in addition to cargo capacity on the passenger flights.
Two of these services are operated with Airbus A330-200F freighters, while the third is still operated with Boeing 777F freighter aircraft.
The carrier launched passenger flights between Doha and Oslo with an Airbus A330-300 on October 5, 2011, going up to daily rotations from January 1, 2013.
In November 2013, KLM Cargo came #2 with 1,324 tonnes, up 44.9 percent, followed by Finnair with 1,081 tonnes, but down 22.5 percent, y-o-y.
#4, Korean Cargo was up four percent to 897 tones, followed by Emirates, down 3.1 percent to 756 tonnes, and Thai Airways with 649 tonnes, up 4.9 percent.
