Jan 20, 2014 (newstodate): All formal issues seem now have been finally settled prior to the final preparations for launching Greenland's new low-cost carrier, Greenland Express.
Last week, the Danish aviation authority Trafikstyrelsen granted Greenland Express is final approval after finalizing a long process of validation, and Greenland's own government has earlier announced commercial rights as well.
Greenland Express is expected to operate from Denmark's Aalborg Airport to Kangerlussuaq Narsarsuak with a wet-leased Embraer 195 aircraft from Denim Air, with a network including also destinations in other North Atlantic markets.
As one crucial point, Greenland Express is expected to operate also feeder flights to and from other points in Greenland, provided by the Icelandic company Air Arctic that is a partner in Greenland Express.
Greenland Express is soon to announce its first flight schedule and other plans but has earlier told newstodate that operations will start in connection with the coming summer schedule.
