Jan 27, 2014 (newstodate): The Danish airline DAT is on track to introduce its first Airbus A320-200 aircraft in commercial services from April, 2014.
With this delivery, the carrier is adding a new market segment to the carrier's existing offerings - the market for charter and ACMI flights with up to 174 passengers.
-The aircraft is fully contracted on long-term basis by tour operators from the start, and will be based at Billund Airport, says Jesper Rungholm, DAT CEO.
-As this new business matures, we will of course consider adding more aircraft of this type, but all in due time and not deflecting from our decision not to aim at growth, but rather as a natural adjustment to changing market conditions and customer requirements, says Mr Rungholm.
So far, DAT has been operating mainly in the ATR segment as well as offering services with its single MD-83 aircraft offering 135 seats now flying on the Coca Cola World tour to promote the WM finals in Brazil in 2014 and "sold out" till September 2014.
