Sep 06, 2013 (newstodate): The Romanian carrier Carpatair has completed the restructuring of its aircraft fleet.
Carpatair is now operating one Boeing 737-300 and three Fokker 100 aircraft, having returned its former fleet of one Boeing 737-300, three Fokker 70, one Fokker 100 and 15 SAAB 2000 aircraft to their lessors.
Serving as the carrier's work-horse for 10 year, Carpatair's fleet of SAAB 2000 aircraft generated more than 150,000 flight hours and transported over 3.5 million passengers before being phased out on May 31, 2013.
The carrier has thus now completed the turn-around of the company and implemented a new strategy with only point-to-point flights and no stops or transfers at its main base at Timisoara.
