Sep 06, 2013 (newstodate): In Lithuania, the year-long process for designing the future of the airports infrastructure is now entering its final stage.
-All legal and other pertinent aspects have now been cleared up, and the final proposal will be filed with the Lithuanian parliament on September 10, 2013, says Arijandas Sliupas, vice-minister of transport & communications.
-The case will be placed on the parliament's agenda for its autumn session, and we expect the case to be finally approved by the end of Q2, 2014, says Mr Sliupas.
The restructuring of the airports infrastructure will comprise the setting up of a state-owned holding company, with Vilnius Airport as the prime mover, for the joint management of the three state-owned airports of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga that will each have own specific roles to play drawing on their individual competencies and conditions.
