Sep 13, 2013 (newstodate): According to Swedavia, Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport again saw its cargo volumes sliding during January-August 2013.
The airport was thus down in cargo volumes by 19.3 percent, y-o-y, to 19,823 tonnes during the period.
This indicates a continued negative growth spiral at the airport that was also down by 20.6 percent, y-o-y, in volumes in 2012, ending at 34,665 tonnes after suffering from the loss of Asiana Cargo that moved its twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter service away from the airport to Oslo, Norway, from September 7, 2012.
But the negative trend was actually already seen in 2011 when Gothenburg Landvetter Airport handled a total of 41,806 tonnes of flown air cargo against 47,705 tonnes in 2010 - a drop by 12.4 percent, y-o-y.
