Sep 24, 2013 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is widely expected soon to announce the acquisition of more Embraer CS300 aircraft.
The country's prime minister, currently visiting Canada, has acquainted himself with the new aircraft at the Embraer factory and is reported to have said that more orders for the CS300 might soon be announced.
Speaking to newstodate in Riga earlier this month, the company's CEO Martin Gauss also said "We still hold options for a further 10 aircraft and I foresee that we will exercise at least three of these in the short term."
By the end of 2012, airBaltic firmed up its order for delivery of 10 Bombardier CS300 aircraft, with deliveries to start by the end of Q4, 2015, also securing purchase rights for another 10 aircraft of the type.
