Sep 20, 2013 (newstodate): One of two handling companies at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, BALT-Cargo is confident of sustained development in 2013.
-We have seen our own business growing in 2013, having been contracted to provide cargo handling of Turkish Airlines that launched flights from Vilnius to Istanbul starting from June 11, 2013, with three weekly rotations on the triangular route Istanbul-Tallinn-Vilnius-Istanbul, says Olegas Kairys, BALT-Cargo managing director.
-During last month we also saw cargo volumes rising by some 20 percent, y-o-y, at the airport, mainly due, however, to temporary flight restrictions at Siauliai Airport that is currently under redevelopment.
-Boding well for the future are also plans by Vilnius Airport for further development of the infrastructure which will bring new potentials. We are rather confident of sustained growth, says Mr Kairys.
