Sep 23, 2013 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now officially confirmed its plans for launch of flights from Riga to a new UK destination: Aberdeen, in Scotland.
The first flight will lift off on March 30, 2013, and the company will offer four weekly rotations on the route operated with Boeing 737 aircraft.
In the UK market, the new route aims at offering onward connections via Riga to destinations that, like Aberdeen, are strong in energy production, oil drilling and exploration such as Baku, in Azerbaijan, as well as to other destinations in CIS and Eastern Europe.
