Sep 05, 2013 (newstodte): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now completed its expansion of the turboprop aircraft fleet.
The recent deliveries of four additional Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft brought the fleet to the planned total of 12 aircraft now operated on airBaltic's network of 60 destinations in Europe, Middle East, and the CIS.
The latest four aircraft were acquired on a leasing arrangement with the Danish turboprop leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital that has also taken ownership of the original eight aircraft after a sale-lease back contract with the carrier.
On the carrier's order book are 10 Bombardier CS300 aircraft to be delivered from 2015, with options for a further 10 units.
The CS300 will replace the existing fleet of 13 Boeing 737 and one Boeing 757 aircraft.
