Sep 06, 2013 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jet Time confirms the acquisition of its first full-freighter soon to join the fleet.
-Our first dedicated freighter, a Boeing 737-400SF is soon to be delivered and will enter commercial service by mid-October, says Klaus Ren, Jet Time CEO.
-The aircraft is to be placed on a long-term contract with a customer who requires the company name not to be disclosed, says Mr Ren.
Industry sources expect the operator to be found among the integrators, with TNT as a qualified guess that is, however, not yet confirmed by either party.
Offering up to 10 pallet positions, the aircraft will be acquired on a lease contract with Kahala Aviation after conversion to freighter service by Commercial Jet, Alabama.
In the fleet of Jet Time are already two Boeing 737-300QC aircraft primarily operating in the passenger configuration during peak charter seasons while being marketed in the ad-hoc cargo market during slack seasons.
