Sep 19, 2013 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC, Wizz Air is planning for further expansion and new routes from its Lithuanian base at Vilnius Airport.
By March 2014, the carrier will base a third Airbus 320 aircraft at the airport and open flights on new routes to Kutaisi in Georgia and to Corfu in Greece.
The increased aircraft capacity will also allow the airline to up frequencies on existing routes out of Vilnius.
Wizz Air established Vilnius as its 14th operational base from April 17, 2011, basing one A320 aircraft at Vilnius Airport, and adding a second aircraft from May 2012 to facilitate operations to a growing network of destinations now comprising 16 cities.
