Sep 12, 2013 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport seems to be losing in airfreight volumes through 2013.
Latest statistics for August 2013 show a decline by 3.9 percent, y-o-y, to 2,054 tonnes including 1.926 tonnes of cargo and 128 tonnes of mail.
Total volumes during January-August 2013 are thus 12.626 tonnes, down 9.6 percent, y-o-y, including 11.665 tonnes of cargo and 981 tonnes of mail.
Compared to same period in 2012, the airport thus saw mail volumes up by 10 percent in January-August 2013, while cargo volumes dropped by another 10 percent, reflecting first of all less traffic by ULS bringing in ex-China shipments via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport in 2013.
