Sep 26, 2013 (newstodate): Since September 4, 2013, Emirates is online with daily flights between Dubai and Stockholm.
The carrier is using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on the route, offering some 238 tonnes of weekly lower-deck capacity to the Swedish market.
-We have yet to see a full month's statistics, but the operation has certainly come off to a good start, says Jens Heide, Emirates SkyCargo's GSSA in the Nordic and Baltic region.
-First of all, with the new online service we can attract more time-sensitive shipments like pharmaceutical and other special types of cargo, and we have met with a very positive response in the Swedish market from the start, on top of the three weekly Boeing 777 freighter rotations between Gothenburg and Dubai.
-We are also offering a scheduled road feeder service operated by Haugsted between Stockholm and the three Baltic countries, especially aiming at the import markets. While volumes are still modest, potentials have indeed been boosted by the new online service by Emirates at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, says Mr Heide
