Sep 23, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo seemingly made a good choice in opening their second European cargo hub from April 2013 at Brussels Zaventem Airport, in Belgium.
The company is now reportedly looking for adding more capacity on the route connecting Brussels and Helsinki, linked to its Asian route network.
Starting from June 6, 2013, Finnair introduced an Airbus A340-300 aircraft on Thursday morning flights between Helsinki and Brussels.
Finnair Cargo is already operating MD-11F rotations on the freighter route between Brussels and Helsinki on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to these operations, Finnair operates up to four daily narrow-body flights between Helsinki and Brussels as well as scheduled road feeder services between the two hubs.
Sources also say that Finnair Cargo is mulling plans for a new freighter service at Brussels connecting to Hanoi, Vietnam, in addition to its freighter services to Hong Kong.
Since July 14, 2013, Finnair has been online with three weekly passenger flights between Helsinki and Hanoi, offering the first direct route from Europe.
