Sep 02, 2013 (newstodate): Figures on air cargo in August 2013 have cooled earlier optimism for a re-bounce in cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport.
After a growth by 10 percent in July 2013, August totals were again down 1.5 percent, y-o-y, to 5,403 tonnes, including 2,384 tonnes of imports, up 0.4 percent, and 3,019 tonnes of exports that dropped three percent.
In the first eight months of this year, the airport has thus handled a total of 41,700 tonnes, up only 0.5 percent on last year.
18,440 tonnes were imports that dropped 8.3 percent, while exports at 23,260 tonnes were up 8.7 percent, y-o-y.
