Aug 14, 2013 (newstodate): Ukraine is pinning high hopes on negotiations with the EU over the country's inclusion into the Common Aviation Area.
A fresh round of negotiations are set for October 21-22, 2013, and if all technical snags are removed, Ukraine hopes to be able to gain admission by the end of this year, already.
Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure estimates that admission to the Common Aviation Area would raise passenger volumes by at least 15-20 percent annually beyond the current total of 14 million passengers now handled at the country's airports.
The negotiations between EU and Ukraine on this issue were started by the end of 2007.
