Aug 22, 2013 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is reportedly to fight the dominance of Air Serbia, formerly JAT and now boosted by Etihad Airlines, in the Serb market.
According to industry sources, Turkish Airlines plans to increase its service on the route between Istanbul and Belgrade by adding first a second daily frequency from October 28, 2013, and going further up to three daily rotations from November 21, 2013.
With the increased offerings on the route, Turkish Airlines will fight for more transfer passengers between Serbia and the carrier's growing international route network through the hub at Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines first entered the route with a daily rotation starting from March 8, 2006.
