Aug 06, 2013 (newstodate): Tajikistan's national carrier Tajik Air is in deep financial and economic problems.
Tajik Air owes substantial debts to Dushanbe International Airport and Khujand Airport, fueling companies, the country's airnav provider and catering companies, as well as to insurance companies.
Ending this year's H1 without profits, Tajik Air has cut down on frequencies to a number of destinations, suspending others and will need an injection of fresh cash in the form of a loan from its owner, the Tajik state, to survive.
In the fleet of Tajik Air are 13 aircraft including three Boeing 737 and one Boeing 757 aircraft.
