Aug 22, 2013 (newstodate): The Slovenian carrier Adria Airways is fighting to ward off its financial plights through a massive sale of assets.
A tender for sale of fixed assets including a maintenance hangar at Ljubljana Airport including an apron area, workshops, flight academy, simulator and office buildings is closing by August 30, 2013, and the revenue from sales should compensate for needs of seeking new loans beyond those already burdening the cash-strapped carrier.
The carrier has also put its two Airbus A319 aircraft up for sale through Phoenix Aircraft Leasing, leaving the airline with a fleet of one Airbus A320, four Bombardier CRJ900LR and five CRJ200LR aircraft, three of which have also been put up for sale.
One of these aircraft has now been sold to Kazakhstan's CAT Airlines, mediated by Cobalt Aviation.
