Aug 22, 2013 (newstodate): Singapore Airlines Cargo holds only fractions of the three Scandinavian markets' IATA export cargo volumes.
Despite the fact that the company maintains its Scandinavian hub at Copenhagen Airport served with four weekly freighter flights, its market share in the Danish export cargo market was only 2.8 percent in July 2013, corresponding to 177 tonnes.
In addition to the freighter operation, Singapore Airlines also operates four weekly passenger flights between Singapore and Copenhagen, going up to five from the winter schedule.
In the Swedish market, SIA Cargo's share in July 2013 was 5.6 percent, equaling 440 tonnes, while in Norway the share was 4.7 percent, equal to 405 tonnes.
Outside Scandinavia, SIA Cargo also fetched 143 tonnes in Finland, or 4.5 percent of this market in July.
In the Danish market, Singapore Airlines Cargo's volumes were down 46.8 percent, y-o-y, and by 31.6 percent in Norway.
In Sweden, the company was up 25.7 percent, y-o-y, and in Finland volumes also grew by 6.5 percent.
