Aug 26, 2013 (/newstodate): Qatar Airways is eating into Norway's seafood market with large and ever-increasing loads of exports from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to the world's market places via its hub at Doha.
The carrier thus again topped Norway's IATA export cargo statistics in July 2013, with an increase in volumes by 131.6 percent, y-o-y, to 1,698 tonnes.
This corresponds to a 19.7 percent share of the total market in July, 8,617 tonnes.
Qatar Airways launched passenger flights between Doha and Oslo with an Airbus A330-300 on October 5, 2011, going up to daily rotations from January 1, 2013.
Starting from January 29, 2013, Qatar Airways Cargo also became online at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport with a Boeing 777F freighter as a stop on the route from Amsterdam to Doha, and from July 6, 2013, the company added a second freighter frequency at Oslo.
