Aug 26, 2013 (newstodate): The Russian authorities have now type certified the latest new version of the Sukhoi Super 100 - a long-range commercial aircraft.
Compared to the base-line Superjet 100 that operates flights over up to 3,048 km, the new long-rage version Superjet 100LR will offer the capability of flights up to 4,578 km with 90 passengers and an increased take-off weight up to 49.45 tonnes, compensated by the strengthened wing, and five percent more thrust by the upgraded SaM146 engine.
On February 15, 2013, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 LR prototype performed its ferry flight across Russia from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the Flight Test Center in Zhukovsky to start certification program that has since comprised 115 flight hours on more than 60 flights.
The launch customer in June 2009 for the long-range Superjet 100LR is the Russian carrier Gazpromavia that ordered 10 aircraft, with deliveries to start by Q3 this year.
