Aug 02, 2013 (newstodate): Lithuania's new carrier Air Lituanica has reportedly come off to a good start, with its first commercial flight on June 30, 2013.
The first route, now temporarily suspended till August 25, 2013, connected Vilnius and Brussels, and Monday August 5, 2013, will see the opening of the second route, to connect Vilnius and Berlin four times a week.
During its first month of operation with the Embraer E-170 leased from Estonian Air, Air Lituanica has been in the air for 220 hours.
52 percent of the company's passengers flew into Vilnius, whilse 42 percent departed from the capital of Lithuania.
The company has performed well, with 95 percent of its outgoing and 93 percent of its incoming flights on time.
Currently, the average load factor is 65 percent, and based on the reservation flows, it should reach 70 percent as early as this autumn, the company says in a statement.
