Aug 21, 2013 (newstodate): Lithuania's new carrier Air Lituanica is expanding its flight offerings.
New to come from September 15, 2013, is the addition of a second daily frequency on the route from Vilnius to Amsterdam, launched on July 8, 2013, and reflecting the positive response in the market for the new service opening up for transfer via Amsterdam to a range of on-ward flights.
Air Lituanica is further to re-instate flights from August 25, 2013, on the route from Vilnius to Brussels, launched as the carrier's first on June 30, 2013, but suspended during the slack business and political season since July 29, 2013.
Air Lituanica also opened up flights from Vilnius to Berlin from August 5, 2013, with five weekly rotations, and more destinations will be opened as the carrier takes delivery of its second aircraft.
The carrier's first aircraft, an Embraer E170, is leased from Estonian Air, operating in Air Lituanica livery and will be followed by the delivery of a second aircraft, an Embraer 175 from ECC Leasing, the date of which has still not been announced.
Cargo sales have been placed with Strike Aviation as its cargo GSSA in Lithuania as well as in the markets served by the carrier.
