Aug 13, 2013 (newstodate): It still remains to be seen if the vision of a low-cost carrier to emerge in Greenland will turn into solid fact.
At least one sign of an imminent break-through may be that a delegation from Greenland Express is today in Toulouse, France, for talks with Airbus over the lease of an Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
-All issues with Greenland's government have been solved. It is now up to the Danish Transport Authority to release Greenland Express for commercial operation, and we expect this to be completed within a few weeks from now, Gert Brask, who has initiated the project, told newstodate on July 22, 2013.
Mr Brask also envisaged the launch of the carrier by September 2013 - but the final approval by the Danish Transport Agency is still pending.
It is expected that the Dutch carrier Denim Air will be operating the first aircraft under their AOC pending an own AOC by Greenland Express.
