Aug 27, 2013 (newstodate): Using facebook as its prime channel of communications to the outside world, Greenland Express has now replaced its earlier cover photo featuring its logo on an Airbus A319 aircraft.
In the latest revision, the project is now showing an Embraer 190 aircraft.
Earlier, Greenland Express has named the Dutch carrier Denim Air as its operating partner, and this company does operate the Embraer 190, with three aircraft flying for Royal Air Maroc and FlyNonstop.
Denim Air has not, however, applied for approval by the Danish Transport Authority, nor has the company applied for slots at the airports concerned.
One version of the Embraer aircraft, the Embraer 195 AR, has a range of 4,077 km, enough to cover the direct flight distance - 2,208 km - between Aalborg, in Denmark, and Kangerlussuaq, in Greenland, with ample margins for diversion under adverse weather conditions.
