Aug 08, 2013 (newstodate): Estonian Air has started the process of evaluating its future aircraft fleet.
The total fleet of the carrier now comprises seven aircraft including three Bombardier CRJ900 and four Embraer E-170 aircraft on lease from Finnair.
-Our flight production now builds on five aircraft - the Bombardier aircraft and two of four Embraer E-170, as one of the Embraer aircraft is leased to Air Lituanica and another serves as back-up as well as being used for ad-hoc charters, says Ilona Eskelinen, Estonian Air PR Director.
-We have decided to keep the Bombardier aircraft in service until the expiry of the current agreement with Bombardier by the end of 2015. After that we will be free to chose how to proceed as to the future fleet composition.
-We are already monitoring the market, and all options are open at this stage as to which type of aircraft we will build on from 2016. We do, however, aim at operating a single-type aircraft fleet in the future, says Ms Eskelinen.
