Aug 29, 2013 (newstodate): The reorganization of the Nordic airport handling group Aviator has long been under preparation.
-During the past year, we have had to focus on issues including economic challenges in Denmark as well as a restructuring in Norway, leaving the plans for a thorough reorganization of the Aviator Group companies temporarily on hold, says Paul Synnott, Aviator Group CEO.
-With these issues behind us, now is the time for taking the next step including the merger of the companies and the re-branding to one unified name, Aviator - a process starting out in Norway and to be fully immplemented by Q1, 2014.
-The process is driven by the wish to present one unified interface and image towards the market and our customers, but also to generate a visible identification among our 2,500 employees in our companies through common uniforms, standards and culture. We are now a mature company and like to show this to the customers. Same, but different, will be our buzz word.
-After this we will be ready to take up new challenges and expand our business whenever feasible and called for by the market. The Nordic region will remain our home base, but I will not preclude that we might expand further beyond the region in the future as opportunities arise.
-One segment is cargo: we have introduced cargo handling at Stockholm and provide some limited cargo services also at Copenhagen. For the time being I cannot see that we would enter warehousing, but any option might be open further down the road, says Mr Synnott.
