Aug 21, 2013 (newstodate): Another European state-owned airline is to be put up for sale.
The Croatian government has decided to launch a tender for sale of its national carrier Croatia Airlines.
The tender procedures will be opened on October 15, 2013, and will reportedly run till February 2014 before negotiations with a successful winner can be completed.
The carrier has seen both passenger volumes and revenues declining in 2013, and as the state is now member of the EU from July 1 this year, it is barred from saving the carrier through capital injections.
The carrier operates a fleet comprising seven airbus A320 Family and six Bombardier Dash8 Q400 aircraft.
