Aug 22, 2013 (newstodate): The implementation of a global reservation and booking system from this year has opened new venues for Greenland's national carrier, Air Greenland.
Air Greenland became a subscriber to Amadeus from this spring, bringing in new potentials for cooperation with other airlines enabling transfer options and code-share agreements allowing Air Greenland to become part of the global airline system.
Earlier this month, Air Greenland announced an interline agreement with Icelandair, and this is now followed by a similar agreement with SAS.
Through these interline agreements and probably more to follow, Air Greenland is becoming integrated with other airlines' global route networks.
Air Greenland itself operates only point-to-point traffic, so until now its passengers had to take out the luggage for new check-in procedures for any onward flights.
