Aug 22, 2013 (newstodate): The latest July 2013 CASS figures on export cargo volumes in the four Nordic markets paint a bleak picture.
All four markets were actually down on last year.
Both Denmark and Finland dropped by 6.3 percent, y-o-y, to 6,411 and 3.163 tonnes, respectively.
The otherwise booming Norwegian IATA airfreight market was down 3.4 percent in July to 8,617 tonnes, while the Swedish market shrank 2.1 percent, y-o-y, to 7,838 tonnes.
Apart from the over-all negative growth in the region, the less-negative point in the statistics might be that at least Sweden's sustained downward trend in IATA export volumes now seems to be abating, cautiously indicating signs of recovery after a period with monthly two-digit decline.
