Jul 23, 2013 (newstodate): Sweden's Stockholm Skavsta Airport will see a change of ownership.
Currently owned by the Spanish company abertis, Skavsta Airport will be sold to the US company ADC & HAS Airports Worldwide that will also acquire Belfast International Airport.
The deal will depend on approvals by the minority owners, the adjacent municipalities in both cases, as well as the US anti-trust authorities.
The airports sold to ADC & HAS Airports Worldwide have formed part of abertis' portfolio since 2005, when the company and Aena Internacional purchased the British operator TBI.
Skavsta Airport has its focus on low-cost operators including Ryanair and Wizz Air and handled a total of 996,550 passengers during this year's H1, a drop by 8.1 percent, y-o-y.
The decline is due to Ryanair's decision to cut one aircraft earlier based at Skavsta, now operating five aircraft from this base.
