Jul 29, 2013 (newstodate): The eventual launch of Greenland's planned new low-cost carrier Greenland Express is still on ice.
-All issues with Greenland's government have now been solved. It is now up to the Danish Transport Authority to release Greenland Express for commercial operation, and we expect this to be completed within a few weeks from now, Gert Brask, who has initiated the project, told newstodate on July 22, 2013.
Mr Brask envisaged the final details to be in place within "only few weeks", allowing for a first flight by September 2013, already.
The person at the Danish Transport Authority in charge of handling the case is, however, on vacation for another three weeks.
-Actually, it is not Greenland Express, but its provider of flight operations, Denim Air, that is applying for approval of the planned operations, says Marie-Louise Svanberg, DTA communications officer.
-The reason why the company still has not had its application approved by DTA seems to be the lack of certain documentation pertaining to the process, says Ms Svanberg.
