Jul 31, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair aircraft will head for Malta for heavy maintenance.
The carrier has signed a contract with ST Technics Malta for heavy maintenance including paint works on two of the airline's 25 Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
The work will be completed at SR Technics Center of Excellence for narrow-body aircraft maintenance in Malta, and the first Finnair aircraft has already rolled into the hangar.
The new contract builds on the signing of a 10-year contract with Finnair in July 2012 for CFM56 engine maintenance and integrated component services support for the carrier's Airbus and Embraer fleet.
SR Technics 4,000sqm two bay hangar at Malta Luqa Airport opened in October 2010 and has since completed over 70 heavy maintenance checks.
