Jul 23, 2013 (newstodate): The Lithuanian airline Air Lituanica is now firmly established with so far two routes on the network after its first flight on June 30, 2013.
Concurring with the opening of the Lithuanian EU presidency, the carrier is now offering daily flights on the route between Vilnius and Brussels, and since July 8, 2013, Air Lituanica added daily rotations on the route between Vilnius and Amsterdam as well.
Next to come is the opening of the third route connecting Vilnius and Berlin from August 5, 2013, and plans are to successively add flights on net routes from Vilnius to destination including Prague, Munich and Moscow, aiming at a network comprising up to 16 routes by 2015.
Air Lituanica is cooperating with Estonian Air, wet-leasing an Embraer 170 aircraft until the end of 2015 and using Estonian Air's booking channels as well.
It still remains unclear if the group behind the new carrier is succeeding in securing support from external investors and partners.
