Jun 20, 2013 (newstodate): Jonkoping Airport is one Swedish airport with sustained growth in cargo volumes during the last 40 months!
-In May 2013, the international cargo volumes through Jonkoping Airport reached 300 tonnes, which is an all-time high, says Herman Larsson Jonkoping Airport AB Marketing Manager.
-While the monthly average in international cargo volumes was around 100 tonnes in 2011, it has now grown to between 250 and 300 tonnes and the growth has been between 50 and 60 percent month by month, measured against the corresponding month of the preceding year.
-The sustained growth reflects the success by TNT and time:matters' in-night services where all flights are invariably filled to the brim from both Baden-Baden on Farnair's flights and on TNTs own flights from its hub at Liege.
-The development of passenger flights is currently our prime target with an increase in passenger volumes by 33 percent during April and May 2013 and a significant growth in charter operations during this summer, adding to Ryanair's new traffic at Jonkoping.
-Still, air cargo remains an important focus are as well, and we have ample resources available to cope with continued increases in volumes by TNT and time:matters and, hopefully, also new cargo carriers in the time ahead, says Mr Larsson.
During January-May 2009, international volumes were 441 tonnes, growing to 589 tonnes during the same period in 2010, to 635 tonnes in 2011, to 1,036 tonnes in 2012, and to 1,323 tonnes in January-May 2013.
