Jun 11, 2013 (newstodate): Cargo volumes are growing healthily at Poland's Warsaw Chopin Airport in 2013.
During the first four months of this year, the airport's total volumes increased by 13.3 percent, y-o-y, to 15,367 tonnes, including 15,167 tonnes of international cargo that increased by 13.5 percent.
During the period, international import shipments were up 11.2 percent to 9,034 tonnes, while international exports increased by 17.1 percent to 6,129 tonnes.
The airport's mail volumes however dropped by 13 percent, y-o-y, to 5,056 tonnes.
Leading cargo destinations at Warsaw Chopin Airport were DHL's hub at Leipzig with 2,211 tonnes, Cologne with UPS' hub with 2,181 tonnes, Chicago with 908 tonnes, New York with 864 tonnes, and Shanghai with 727 tonnes in the period.
Leading cargo carriers were LOT lifting 3,951 tonnes, UPS with 3,398 tonnes, EAT serving TNT with 2,174 tonnes, Sprint Air with 585 tonnes, and Air Contractors with 580 tonnes.
