Jun 19, 2013 (newstodate): Slovenia's Ljubljana Airport is seeing its cargo volumes growing in 2013.
In January-April 2013 the airport has handled a total of 5,956 tonnes, an increase by 13 percent, y-o-y, and 15 percent above the target for 2013.
In May 2012 the growth was 11 percent, y-o-y.
Among the main cargo operators at the airport are UPS, TNT and DHL.
According to the 2010 master plan, the airport can expect to grow its cargo volumes from some 10,000 tonnes in 2008 to more than 60,000 tonnes by 2040, while trucked freight would go as high as to over 100,000 tonnes also in 2040.
