Jun 25, 2013 (newstodate): Russia's first operator of the Airbus A380, Transaero is working with Vladivostok Airport to prepare for the introduction of the new aircraft.
The airport has signed an agreement with Transaero to build the infrastructure necessary to handling and maintenance of the Airbus A380, including implementation of airnav, MET and radio communication facilities, passenger facilities and other airport logistics.
Transaero signed an MoU with Airbus in October 2011, firming up the purchase order in June 2012 for delivery of four Airbus A380 aircraft, with two aircraft to arrive in 2015 and the remaining two in 2016.
The aircraft will be delivered under a leasing agreement with VEB-Leasing.
The first route to see the introduction of the Airbus A380 will be the high-density domestic flights between Vladivostok and Moscow Domodedovo Airport, with intercontinental flights to follow as more aircraft are delivered.
