Jun 19, 2013 (newstodate): Despite a moderate growth in cargo volumes in May 2013, Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport is seeing total volumes up by 10.8 percent, y-o-y, after the first five months of 2013.
In May, a total of 9,037 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, a growth by only 1.8 percent, including 6,868 tonnes of international cargo that increased by 5.6 percent, and 2,169 tonnes of domestic cargo that however dropped by 8.7 percent, y-o-y.
The first five months generated a total of 47,126 tonnes of cargo including 33,804 tonnes of international cargo, up 10.2 percent, and 13,322 tonnes of domestic cargo, up 5.2 percent, y-o-y.
The boost in the airport's international cargo volumes is much boosted by freighter services, now totaling seven weekly flights including three by Korean Air Cargo, three by Asiana Cargo and one by Qatar Airways Cargo that will add a second weekly flight from July 6, 2013.
