Jun 03, 2013 (newstodate): The Icelandic/Danish charter carrier Primera Air has decided to enter the airfreight market.
As a first step, the company has contracted the Icelandic company Cargo Express to serve as its cargo GSSA.
Initially, the focus will be on shipments to and from Iceland, but plans are next to look at setting up cargo sales in other countries served by Primera Air where market potentials are identified.
Among new potentials as seen by the GSSA, Primera Air's Boeing 737-800 operations at Denmark's Billund Airport will open up for new business opportunities.
Set up as Primera Air in Iceland, the Primera Air Group established Primera Air Scandinavia as a subsidiary in 2009 with Denmark as its base and operating on a Danish AOC.
