Jun 28, 2013 (newstodate): Helicopter services between between Helsinki, Finland, and Tallinn, Estonia, may be resumed - but no specific date has been set.
-We deployed our single AugustaWestland AW139 helicopter to operations in the North Sea, serving the off-shore industry where there was an urgent need for uplift capacity, says Kari Ljungberg, Copterline CEO.
-Prior to that, services on the Finland-Estonia route was grounded for a lengthy period due to aircraft maintenance.
-We may re-open the flights between Helsinki and Tallinn again, but it depends on when our contract on the North Sea services expire. Also we may add more helicopter capacity, but this is still not decided upon, says Mr Ljungberg.
Copterline launched operations on September 14, 2011, with five rotations on the route on weekdays, going up to 10 daily services from Monday to Thursday, and 12-14 daily flights on Fridays.
