Jun 28, 2013 (newstodate): The new Lithuanian carrier Air Lituanica is readying for its first flight between Vilnius and Brussels taking place on June 30, 2013.
The carrier's first aircraft, an Embraer E170, is leased from Estonian Air, operating in Air Lituanica livery and will soon be followed by the delivery of a second aircraft, an Embraer 175 from ECC Leasing.
The Embraer 175 is slated for delivery in July 2013, and by then Air Lituanica will add flights from July 8 to Amsterdam and from August 5 to Berlin.
From the outset, Air Lituanica is determined to provide air cargo services as well, contracting Strike Aviation as its cargo GSSA in Lithuania as well as in the markets that are to be added to the network.
-It is certainly a pleasure to work with a new airline customer right from the start and we are keen to provide Air Lituanica with all services needed, benefiting from the outset from Strike Aviation's IT systems covering all the markets in question, says Andrius Antanaitis, Strike Aviation Lithuania general manager.
-Besides providing cargo sales in Lithuania we will also undertake the responsibility for the incoming cargo loads cooperating with our offices in Belgium, Germany and Holland, says Mr Antanaitis.
