Jun 18, 2013 (newstodate): Once a bustling cargo airport, Germany's Frankfurt Hahn Airport is probably seeing limits to growth in volumes.
One of the "home carrier" at Frankfurt Hahn Airport, Aeroflot has decided to retire its three MD-11F freighters from July 15, 2013, without intentions of replacing them with new aircraft.
Another major cargo carrier nestling at the airport was Air Cargo Germany that went bust by mid-April 2013 with four Boeing 747-400F aircraft, and Etihad Crystal Cargo left Frankfurt Hahn Airport in favor of Frankfurt Airport from the start of this year.
Still serving at the airport are the Chinese carriers Yangtze River Express with up to three weekly rotations, Navitrans cooperating with Evergreen with one weekly flights, as well as Nippon Cargo Airlines.
