Jun 20, 2013 (newstodate): No Gulf carriers have yet added Finland to their markets served with direct scheduled flights.
As one example, Qatar Airways said by late 2012 that flights to Helsinki were in the pipeline - but so far no announcement of launch of services has been made.
Nor has Emirates yet cast its eyes on the Finnish market.
Instead, both carriers are serving all three Scandinavian markets with scheduled direct services.
Exploiting this, Finnair will now offer five weekly rotations between Helsinki and Dubai from this coming winter schedule, using Airbus A321ER aircraft on the route that will connect with Finnair's European traffic via Helsinki.
